Offering lots of genres of photography

I thought I’d share a personal post this time.

Not so long ago I was embarrassed to admit I can photograph lots of genres of photography so I had three business names and three websites.

I thought I needed to show I was a specialist in one area to be taken seriously and from asking lots of people it felt like 50% of people agreed that a specialist website over a website that showed lots of genres of photography was important.

It was a big decision but I decided on one business name and one website.

The whole experience cost me £1000's from new branding, building new websites to taking down two websites = a HUGE headache for all involved as well as the pain of wondering for the next 1-2 years if I had done the right thing.

I am now 100% pleased with my decision and am in a happy place.

I decided my people would buy into my energy and I accepted I would lose some potential bookings. By showing all that I do people get to book me for other important times in their life.

I get to capture and document people's journeys from business to family to hobbies to their colleague, friend and children's special moments.

I love the variety my job has and feeling free to share it.
